Measuring PH

Please be aware that we do NOT recommend that you use pH strips to measure the pH of water. pH strips are normally designed to measure the pH of saliva and urine and need a chemical to react against. In tests that we have run with pH strips alongside a properly calibrated pH meter we found that the pH strips showed little or no change in the pH of the alkalised water which read pH 7.5 pre-alkalisation and pH7.5 post alkalisation. Whereas the digital meter measured pH 7.84 pre alkalisation and pH 9.44 post alkalisation.

So as a general rule we believe that pH strips may very well give you a misleading result.

If you are interested in measuring the pH of your tap water before and after alkalisation,

this pH Reagent is a cost effective way of doing so.
